Coffee could make a higher quality pitcher, this product would be perfect. We've gone through three pitchers already and I am about to order our fourth. We've had this ice tea maker for several years and it has consistently worked great for us. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because the (plastic) pitchers only last about a year before they start cracking and leaking. If Mr.
First 1/2 ounce or so flowed nicely into pitcher. Bought new TM75 - it leaks even worse. By the time it was done - counter was soaked; tea had leaked onto our Laminate flooring. Thought it was from a faint crack at base of pitcher beneath spout. Seriously dissappointed. I thought I'd perhaps did not have the pitcher firmly in place - not so - it was perfectly placed.
Thank God I was right there to wipe up the spill before the flooring was ruined. After 3 years with an older Mr Coffee Iced tea maker - noted leaking when tea brewing. (though none leaked while in refrigerator.). After that - it all began leaking down front of team maker.
I love the fact you can make different amounts of tea and that it now makes 3 quarts, the older style only had the 2 quart option. And I do like that I can buy replacements if needed. I bought one for both our office and our home, this makes excellent tasting tea. I haven't had any troubles with the pitcher, but I do not wash it in the dishwasher, I always hand wash it.
Hope I'm not getting poisioned. I waste more time looking for pieces. I store it in a bottom cabinet and every time I try to get something else out the pot falls apart. It looks like the plastic is melting away or something. I have owned several of these tea pots and the design has all been different. The problem with this on is when you're not using it and it's stored away, don't touch it because the basket and lid do not lock and they are always falling apart. Also the pitcher is disgusting looking after months of use.
However this product has functioned perfectly. I am thrilled with this product, so easy to use & clean. With most items you get what you pay for and for around ~$20 I was wary. Works perfectly, makes a huge 3+ Liter contain of Ice Tea.
